Ben Schofield
As the Senior Market Development Manager for Ingram Micro and Team Leader for IBM Servers and Storage, Ben Schofield has a wide ranging portfolio and some serious expertise to back it up. Ben manages some of Ingram Micro’s key business partners including IBM hardware and software, Netapp, Commvault, Ironport, Redhat, VMware, Adobe and Symantec. Ben enjoys inspiring his team and gets actively involved in making sure they achieve the best possible results.
It is a role Ben is well equipped for. Having started his first IT business straight from school, he certainly understands the practical demands of being a reseller. Over a seven year period he grew the business until an IBM business partner made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Ben then continued to work for the company for another four years, before looking for new challenges in the industry. This has resulted in Ben gaining experience across many different facets of technology including application hosting, virtualisation and as an rollout engineer.
While he describes himself as a “pure and simple, go-to-solutions guy” it is in developing sales strategy where Ben excels; an area he sees as the definitive driver for business success. Ben’s cross-section of experience in the IT industry also helps his customers to differentiate themselves from the competition and be the first to identify new opportunities. Ben enjoys having diversity in his leisure pursuits as well and can be variously found exploring his enthusiasm for snowboarding, fishing, travelling and DJing in his spare time.
