The Business Licensing and Services Team operates in the highly complex area of software licensing agreements. It offers a range of services from a straight out license procurement model through to providing bundled software solutions for the SME market.
The team aims to provide smaller resellers with solutions expertise around software so they don't have to know it all themselves. In many ways the Business Licensing and Services Team becomes a consulting arm of the smaller reseller advising on how to best license a product.
Larger resellers, with in-house teams, require a much broader distribution and licensing service that Ingram Micro has both the scale and the scope to provide.
The team is responsible for thousands of products from a range of different vendors including Microsoft, Symantec, Adobe, Computer Associates, IBM, Trend Micro and Red Hat. No two vendors license their products in the same way and each vendor has a different approach to annuity and renewal agreements. It requires an in-depth understanding of the business environment the licenses will be operating in, matched with a technical understanding of the legal and financial requirements.
The Business Licensing and Services Team adds considerable value to all of the Solutions Group activity and gets involved with projects from the initial scoping and quotation right through to implementation and on-going management and maintenance programmes.
