Simon Walbran
Simon Walbran has multiple IBM certifications covering both technical and sales qualifications. This makes him an invaluable member of the Quote Desk team specialising in determining IBM configurations for small to medium business solutions and then working up a quote for them.
Simon has over twelve years experience in the IT industry. He started at Ultra Computers back in the 1990's where he got a sound grounding in Intel products and solutions. He then went on to spend five years with Cellnet where he was introduced to developing IBM solutions and a further two years with VAD prior to its acquisition by Ingram Micro.
While IBM SystemX and Storage are of particular interest, Simon has extensive knowledge across the entire IBM product portfolio. He describes himself as taking a "thorough and dogged" approach to getting the job done - one that his customers appreciate when they receive the carefully crafted end result. Working on the Quote Desk has resulted in Simon developing some serious skills in diplomacy as getting caught between the differing needs of vendors and resellers can take some working through. It is work that Simon particularly enjoys and coming up with a deal that works for everyone involved is something he finds very satisfying indeed.
